But many Americans think that Islam is one of the greatest threats to our nation because it is fundamentally violent and anti-American. Not all Muslims are terrorists, the saying goes, but most terrorists are Muslim. In fact, FBI crime statistics show that native-born Christians are behind the majority of domestic terrorist acts.
No one religion–Islam, Christianity, or anything else–is solely behind the terrorism in the world today. But our fears about these religions, particularly Islam and the Muslims who practice it, may very well be.
